I go tthem from Dons Sport Vehicles in Perry, MI. They are just your standard 8 spoke white steel rim with a reverse offset. You should be able to ordetr them from any of the buggy shops that advertise in Hot VWs magazine. I scuffed them up pretty good then painted them black with high temp paint.

It holds up better to the heat generated by the brakes.

Hey John

Funny you should post this tonight. We should have it complete this weekend. I just got finished tuning the engine up. We had a problem with the engine running at idle. It turned out to be a bad ground on the fuel cut off solenoid. Once I got that fixed it idles great. All we need now is a front end alignment and to replace the seal behind the flywheel. We will pull the motor Saturday night so we can check the clutch disc to see if its covered in oil. Then Sunday head over to the buggy show in Lansing and pick up a new seal and a few other odds and ends.

We will probably take it out for a ride Saturday morning on the dirt roads. I figure the dirt roads wont chew the tires up too bad because of a bad alignment. I need to drive the car. Been working on it way too long to let it sit when I know it runs.

Monday morning I will run it in to Ortonville and get the front end aligned and it will be officially done.......for now. I am sure it will be an on going project for some time.

Talk to you later
Ken

Yes we went to the buugy show. I picked up a new back seat because mine was pretty much trashed. Also got new shocks, an air cleaner and a few other odds and ends. Got a new seal that goe behind the flywheel. Now the engine isn't pissing oil everywhere.

Nice that yours started right up. Thats always a good feeling. We got the front end aligned Saturday and have been driving all over. I think one of my heat exchangers may be cracked because I'm getting some exhaust inside the car. I'll have to pull those and throw some j pipes on to see if that soles the issue.

I'll post some pictures of the completed car once I download them.

Ken
