A lot of solutions to your questions are shown here:
These turn indicator lights are rotated outward to enhance side visibility while not compromising forward visibility.
Hood Clips custom fabricated
For a back up light, try Grote brand at truck stops. Mount them on the back bumper.

My turn signals are between the tubes of my bumpers, headlights are dune buggy style lights mounted sideways on a piece of square tubing tied into the hood pin mounts behind the fenders. I use a multipiece front end so Idk about the mounts.

Dont have any other pics of them, Ill take some tomorrow if you'd like.

my car has crappy "coil over" shocks on it. They arent great off road, but on a street car they are decent if adjusted right. If you really want a good off road setup, Id recommend turning the torsions. Cheap, yes. Easy, for the most part.

Stock VW wiring includes several light functions which the pair of taillights cannot handle all of without some help.
There is:
- Stop
- Tail/Running
- Right Turn
- Left Turn
- Backup
- License Plate
The lights may be made for 1 function, possibly 2.
American cars mostly use the same bulb and filament for stop and turn, while the VW 1961 and later has separate amber lights for turn. Most any car built outside the US is like the VW.
There is a converter unit by Hoppy brand made to connect trailers with 2 bulbs to import cars and trucks. They are available for about $14 from WalMart in the Automotive/RV/Trailer Hitch section.
VW wiring diagrams are available at the Samba:
www.thesamba.com/vw/ar...ringt1.php
We can give you more info when you have the converter.

Well...A few tomorrows...
Taillight Converter
Hopkins #48845
contentinfo.autozone.c...5/image/4/
It allows you to use two 2-filament bulb taillights for tail, brake, and turn indicators on a car wired for separate amber rear turn indicators like most Bugs.
www.walmart.com/ip/Hop...r/16782554
www.autozone.com/autoz...43546_0_0_
Price is something like $14.

I didn't mount mine to the rear cage i mounted mine higher up. I used LED lights (same size as crestfallens) only difference is they are dual filament so mine act as taillights and brake lights. Easy install (we bent a piece of aluminum angle iron and drilled up into the support right above them) and they sit higher up so i am very happy with them. Brighter than crap too, When i hit the brakes at night i can turn around and see the red glow on everything within a few hundred yards lol.

Heres some pics

Hey rybob
I mount my taillights just like yours
Mine are dual filament too
How do I get them to work for 3 functions
Tail, turn, brake
I have a trailer tailight converter
Is that what u have in your bug?
I have no idea how to hook it up
Help anyone?!?
