Thats a oil gallery to your rear main but it seems to be on the wrong half of the case.....interesting.
Hows the end play on the crankshaft before the flywheel and seals were pulled????

That is an oil feed hole. It looks like the dowel pin holes are very elongated. Your end play should be from .0027 to .0006 in. Also if I remember there should be an o-ring between the crank and flywheel.

Thats the oil drain off the rear main....behind 1 & 2
Rear main seal it, shim the flywheel to specs on end play and throw it back in.

Id start thinking on a brand new 8 dowel counterweight build.
Start with a dual releif case and build ya something that will run smoother and last longer then the stock four dowel....youll see feel and hear the difference and be happier in the long run.

Start shoppin around.....kits are pretty reasonable.
Or you can end up like me. Piecing parts together every two weeks.
My current build is using a 69 counterweight 8 dowel
flywheel
rods
cima forged pistons......were taken to the machine shop and balanced.
$200 for the balance @ my shop.
The cima forged pistons run about double your cast.
Total seal rings im needing since my build will be pressurized.
Engle TC 10 cam and lifters
Long block complete with Stock Mexican heads.
Damn.....need to get me my Gene Berg sump..

Anyways how long had the motor been sitting before you tuned it????
The rubber around the oil cooler....push rod tubes and rear main just get hard and need to be replace....

And like Zyla said dont loose your flywheel
Ge

Keep your chin up brother
Put a new seal in shim to specs and and make sure that flywheel is torqued.
And have fun
