is there any way to get a wide ball joint front end? I Don't want much just a couple of inches to match the rear end. I have ordered 3x3 arms for the rear. I have thought (once that cured me) about cutting the frame and going to a link pin but that idea just doesn't appeal to me. Already have disk brakes and 3inch lift spindles. Don't wanna throw them away and start over. It will be a street Baja. I have an 1835 engine Built and will use it on the street. Right now I have the floor pans cut out and next step is powder coating the frame then going back together with running gear. Front end is the minor hang up so far. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance from Grandpa and Lane. Laughing

Yes!

If you have the skills and tools available, you can widen it yourself for darn near free. I have widened several BJ beams, from 4" to 8" over.

6" Wider is what you want to match the rear 3x3's. If you dont want to do it yourself, BugZyla can make a beam in any length for you:

Thanks for the input. I hadn't thought about widening it myself. Looks like it would be simple enough to do, little elbow grease which I have lots of, a little welding which I can do. Only question I have is there a kit or is it just slice it and add adjusters and put it back together? I have never been inside of the beams so it is all new to me. But willing to try DARN_NEAR anything once.

Couple different ways to do it, one way is to take two BJ beams and cut them two inches off center and combine the two halves that are longer, giving you a +6 beam.

Or, cut the middle out of yours, add 4 adjusters and a 6" piece in the middle of them, this will give you a + 6 beam and allow you to use your existing leaves cut in half and re-dimpled. The key here is, you push the adjusters towards the outside of the beam 1" on each side.

Heres a good deal if you do want to convert to Linkpin.

Its all you would need for a direct bolt on conversion (using BugZyla's conversion beam)

Thats a great price, I believe the beam alone cost more than that new.

I wish I had seen that BEFORE I bought the disk brake kit and the 3" taller spindles. So I am sorta stuck with BJ front end. I didn't even know they made such a kit as that. Pretty darn neat.
