Brought home a second baja, this one is a 70, with those sweet white spoke rims. Now the surgery begins, I have to move the engine and all the goodies from the 65 i bought last week over to the 70, just wondering if i should convert it all to wide 5 or stay with the 4 lug. Hope i can convert the link pin front to the 4 lug so i can keep those sweet rims.

Managed to get ahold of a second engine (finally) with a better case, but worse heads then the first, so I'm just gonna take the best from the 2 and put em together into one. Hope to have the baja up and running by next weekend

Pulled my motor today, need to get 200mm flywheel so it will fit into my 70 irs trans, also found out (while trying to put my car onto jack stands) that my heater channel on the rear drivers side, is complete junk, maybe i can cut the back out of my 65 and weld it in there? or maybe just replace it.

1. Put on 4 DZUS clips on 1 piece front end.
2. Got new front tires.
3. Turns on electric fuel pump and flooded the Empi 40 with gas going everywhere. Only 2 pounds of fuel pressure. Not sure what the problem is.
4. Mounted battery in box in the back.
5. Redid brakes lines on the front and put in new mater cylinder.

I'm thinking you might like to put hard lines for you fuel pump inside the car. Also your pump is to high it needs to be below the fuel tank. most fuel pumps/vane pumps will not pull a vacuum so there is now way to prime your pump.

Can't say that I've ever run across any 5-lug hub to 4-lug wheel adapters. They COULD be made from 4-lug hub to 5-lug wheel adapters. But I would expect trouble with the 5-lug pattern lugs interfering with the wheels.

4-lug front drums do not fit onto link pin spindles. I have seen some disc kits that come un-drilled and if you then got them drilled to 4-lug...????

Wheel adapters are readily available in both 4 to 5 and 5 to 4 lug. You can buy linkpin rotors in 4 lug.

NICE! What tires are those? You should make a project and build section thread, and make sure its pic heavy, because every time i log on i see more progress on that car! It looks like its coming along quite nicely! Cool

Found out the motor in the bug i bought as a parts car (purchased for the motor and rollbar and other parts) is actually a 1915, with new heads pistons and all the goodies, it has never been started. Finally got the engine put together, and drove it into Tucson yesterday. Went all the way to BAP to look at stuff, and on the way home it kept dying..it was acting like it wasn't getting any fuel. Help please? I think it may be the fuel pump =\
