Well folks, we're getting closer to moving from VA to NC. The wife and I have been talking about it for a couple years now but the idea really struck home when my Mom-in-law suffered an accident in our home last Nov. She's ok but this struck deep with the wife on how much she missed her family. She (the wife) is from NC. So we started the ball rolling. Looking at houses and job opportunities in NC.

After several months of applying to various jobs (for both of us), my wife has accepted a job offer that begins mid August this year. Now I've gotta drive myself even harder to locate employment. It's hard to think about leaving a company that I've been with for 25 years. I'm trying to get a position within the company that is located in the area we plan to move but I'm getting jerked around by my boss. So, I'm looking into other opportunities.

I've forgotten how difficult it is job searching. Especially since I have very specific experience gained over my years with this company.

Other than that, I am very excited. I've been in the same area of VA all of my life. So I look forward to a change and to get away from the freakin traffic.

You've got that right! Junior Johnson is a resident within the area we are relocating to. Lots of other "American" history there too!

I hear ya man. I've been close in distance to my family all my life, now I won't be. But, the wife has been away from hers for years, except holidays, vacations and such. The plus side is that I am real close to my in-laws so it will be a good change.

The area is Wilkes. It's about 2.5 hrs north east of you.
As for your rail and Manx, are they street legal and WHERE DO YOU RIDE? I've been researching here and there and the only place I find relatively close is the Uhwarrie ORV/OHV park.

Yes they are both street legal, but you are correct there are not alot of off-roadin opportunitys here. most of the gus run up to tenessee for their off-roading
