hey guys i was wondering will a 58 body fit on a 68 irs pan?
Never swapped bodies before so i was wondering before i started tearing it apart.

Yes it will. This is a somewhat common swap. (early bug to IRS)

The only mods you will have to make is on the rear of the body. There is a mount on the body that sits on the upper part of the shock tower on the pan. You will have to cut the mount off of the body and relocate it about an inch up. Not hard to do.

If the pan is an IRS and its a 68, make sure its not from an autostick car. If it is there will be no clutch tube. You will need to install a clutch tube (for the clutch cable to run through) in order to run the 4 speed trans. Its easier to do with the body off.
