Didn't realize that it has been a couple weeks since I updated the progress. Last time I mantioned that I was going to pick up the trans, well, I did, so fit it in and finished up the upper mount, cleaned up the horns, and did some work on the rear cage.

Also couldn't resist seeing how the power steering resovoir would look. I like it!

Spent some time on part of the wiring. Got the gages and most of the switches put in so decided to go ahead and do the wiring under the dash. Had to make a plate to mount the fuse block and relays. I still have to terminate all the wires coming from the back, and the wiring for the lights and other "front" items.

Since I still have alot more wires to put in, I haven't started to tie them up, but this should neaten up quite a bit.
Also repainted the front beam. Got a little overspray on it.

Yesterday and today I focused on getting the pedals installed. I've been working on these for a while, and quite frankly, they've been kickin my butt. Getting the hole through the firewall in the right place and through all the metal thats in the way, then getting them positioned, which included bending the pedals to get the right clearance, has been a challenge. The result though I think is good. Also made a block for the brake lines out of a piece of aluminum that I had laying around.

Then I hooked up the power steering lines to the torque generator, and installed the fuel pump to the firewall on the passenger side.

Then I got the shocks put back on.

Damn! Looks good. Don't forget to leave room on the dash for a boost gauge.

I got a spot. If you notice, the gage to the far left is a water temp gage, which now is only good for checking the temp of the water that I drive through.

Time for an update. The car is currently with BajaWarrior getting a few details finished up, but hope to have it back here tomorrow evening. It's looking pretty close to being finished. Had a buddy come over the other day and help me with a few things. Like installing the front and rear windows.

Then we also got the Trans put in, bolted up the motor, and put on the rear cage.

Thought I would add these other two shots as well. The first showing the front shock and brake lines. Got some nice steel braided ones. The second is just a side shot of the car. I really like how the engine and cage made it look so much longer. I think once I get the front bumper on it will look really good. Also bought some different wheels yesterday. Discount Tire was having a sale, and just couldn't pass them up. I figured since the car was coming together, it was looking too good to have the black wheels. New ones are Aluminum with some black accents. Will have pics in a few days.

It's a VERY historic day in the life of "BajaGhia". It RUNS!!!!! Very Happy Been working pretty hard on it the last few days, getting all the little things hooked up, filled up and wired in, but it all paid off today. The power steering is going to be sooooo nice. Really glad I put that on. Here are a few pics of the engine. Had to make a bracket to support the oil cooler and filter, then find a spot for the coil and breather box. Things started to get a little tight, but looks like it will all work. I will have to keep an eye on the temps........having preheated air from the oil cooler blowing down on the engine probably isn't the best idea, but was limited on space, plus with the air coming through the scoop, think I will be ok.

Have done a few other things too. Got a new set of wheels. The others just did not go with the car.

Got the fuel tank mounted up front.

Couple pics of the interior, finished door panel, and shot of the brake and clutch lines. Got them all hooked up, and will bleed them tomorrow.
