It was suggested to me to do one on the east side. Sycamore Creek was an area that was suggested. What does everyone think? I havent been there in like 30 years so I dont know how it is out there.

Look up lower sycamore creek. It looks kind of like the Haysayammpa.

i was out there just this morning at sycamore creek.... it is alot like the haysayammpa river bed, but there are alot of hills to play in. the way in is easy and lots of places to set up camp. and the access to the back side of saquaro lake is just down the road about 2 miles... and there is about a million trails and washes there.
there was a mention in the sand sports magazine a couple of months ago, gave it a great review for a place to play.
north on bush highway going to payson, turn at the new bridge at the saquaro lake turn off and go north thru the iron gates and follow the dirt road down to river bottom.
on an given summer nite people camp out here every weekend ....there are no bathrooms or anything near by... nearest gas station is over 12 miles away. so plan on bringing everything to get by with.
i have a couple of pics of the area on my photobucket.com just search ikill6453
so lets start the poll of when? all my weekends in january are open... so anytime is good for me.

Other way 202 E. to Country Club north to 87 north. Get off at Saghuro Lake exit and turn left to Sycamore entrance.

Hey guys the AVC is planning its annual New Years Camp out on the Wednesday before New Years (29th) and returning Jan 2nd (Sun). We're planning for maybe Alamo Lake that way some of the fishermen can do their thing. The trails around Alamo Lake are super smooth fire roads all smooth graded dirt and there is a store with a gas station in case you need something or to top off your tank. Its not set in stone yet but just wondering if any of you might be interested? thanks

well i think someone needs to suggest a date and see how it works for everyone..... ok... i will suggest jan 15...sat.
so spread the word and lets see what who how when... lets make this work.
i am thinking a 8am ish start and a couple of runs, then back to camp for a lunch bbq then a couple of runs till dark. remember it will be alot cooler then... and most people will fade out come dark.
here is the list of people so far... feel free to add ...
