While washing the baja after a weekend of hell-raising I discovered a pretty good sized oil leak around the factory cooler.Picked up some new seals and gonna pull it apart tonight. Hopefully its just the seals and not the cooler

Fixed my leaky valve covers, and pulled off the side bars to get them ready to be painted. Hopefully they'll turn out as I'm hoping.

Got quite a bit done today!!

Replaced the throwout bearing assembly and painted the bell housing...

Replacing the clutch cable is a really really big PITA to do, you have to pull the whole pedal assembly...

Pulling the old cable out...

My cable was just a bit frayed lol

Finding the little tube inside the tunnel is probably what took me the longest, you gotta have really small fingers, which I don't have so I spent almost 20 minutes just trying to get the new cable in the little hole lol

Just a heads up if you plan on replacing your clutch cable don't make the same stupid mistake I did. I got it all back together, thought I was good to go, pushed the clutch petal and it stayed on the floor...noooooooo. Pull the assembly and when I was putting it back together I didn't realize the dumb german design allows for the cable to come off the hook while it's inside the tunnel!!! so I wrapped some bailing wire around the hook and put it back together and it's good to go lol

Tada! All back together with a new clutch cable!

Went to BAP to pick up CV parts to repack the joints. Was driving home and the bug died on the on ramp to the 51....OUT OF GAS!!! So i spent the day running 2 miles to a gas station in sandals to get a couple tanks of gas. And When i got home I noticed i forgot to put the gas cap back on. Frack!!! so today....My baja got a new gas cap! Smile

Drove it to work after welding reinforcment plates over the cracks(which were also welded) in the pan head. To make a long story short it was cracking from where a channel was put in for the long tie rod. Feels much safer now and isnt creaking anymore HAHA.

Good choice getting the "fully welded" cross shaft.

WELL! I attempted to fix the busted spot in the crank case. (When attempting to change the pulley seal, i some how managed to pull out a chunck of the case around the seal flange. Seeing as I dont have the $$ for a new crank case OR to get my other engine completely done, I decided to JB weld it. I KNOW its not what everyone would recommend and trust if I had the money to tear the engine back down right now I WOULD, but Im pretty confident this will work great for now. I ground everything down so it was nice and rough, v channeled along the cracks and got it in everywhere really well. If this repair gets me til Jan, Ill be happy. Ill finish putting together my other engine and buy a new case for this one so I have a spare engine. WISH ME LUCK! If this doesnt work, no car for me for Hasayampa... Sad
