Tell me about it haha. Didn't realize there could be so many rough spots on this car! Oh well, almost done sanding, will post pics in my build thread when its painted.

Installed new clutch cable. Bugzyla welded and reshaped the worn clutch pedal hook. Replace the worn out floppy gas pedal with a new roller looking one. Drilled and safety wired the grub screw and the long bolt on the shift coupler. Sweated like I was on death row.

Installed stylish foil-backed bubble-wrap headliner. Shweet. Also took Logan for his first ride in the baja (more than just around the block). Strapped his car seat in to the passenger seat and went for a little cruise... Laughing

Now you did it he is going to need one of those electric off road kids vehicles but you'll have to make a VW body for it.

Noticed the other day tool'n around town that my fuel gauge was going from 3/4 to way below "E" like a loss of power to the sending unit. Found a broken strand on the sender. DAMN! This thing is 10 years old but not used until the last 2. Got one on order.

Just wired up the Baja's new Kenwood KDC-MP642U headunit. Just waiting for the first set of speakers to arrive; some Kicker 4"x6" coaxials.

I also just disconnected my fuel gauge today cause it flat out just doesnt work.

They look good on there Tyler. Most 5-1600 racers use them in that size. Might be a little rubbage at full bump.

If you come out to Barstow for the MORE Powder Puff race moreracing.net/powderpuff2010/, you can get a good close look at the ARTS Baja Bug which my son codrives in.
The ladies will be using either this one...

This car is the current points leader and in fact should have the championship wrapped up in duct tape as the team have won all but one race so far this year and the one they didn't win they were 2nd.

Or this one...

Either car you can look at up close and crawl all over the thing to see if there is anything to learn about how to build one like it.

that would be really fun, I'll try to get out there for the powder puff race. Is there any way I would be able to pre-run any of these races? Like part of the Holiday 200 or something?

Yes. You can pre-run race courses in California (at this time...after the fiasco in August, the regulatory people are looking for ways to get us out of the desert). Nevada BLM doesn't allow pre-running much, if at all. The course maps may be downloaded including gps coordinates in the last few weeks before a race. It won't be marked until right before the race, and I don't recommend going on a course close to race time.

www.moreracing.net/

All who are interested in spectating a California race please read the notes regarding spectators!

At this time MORE still has the map up for the Chili Cookoff race a week and 1/2 ago.
moreracing.net/10/maps/chili.pdf

Going around one lap will be educational about what the racers experience.

Is there a tech inspection that needs to be passed to for pre-running?

Adjusted the valves, front wheel bearings and took off the roof rack and windshield for welding up a couple of cracks.
