Well, as far as filling the radiator goes, I was sort of wondering about that myself, but since I decided to go with the VW motor, guess I won't have to worry about it. Was a concern though if I could get enough water in it to keep things cool.

I think I know the rail you are talking about. Was it in "Sand Sports" Mag a few months ago? Blue one? If so, that is a VERY sweet rail. If that's the one, it was the root of my inspiration for the design of the rear cover, except for the cooler idea. I really liked how he beveled the sides and back.

Yep, I guess that would be it. I only saw the car once- the rear end of it in his trailer. I didn't know it had been in the mag until you just said that, so I googled and found this pic. He was a VERY nice guy- killed Easter this year in Australia in a hydro boat race accident. I ran into him at the Avgas pumps at Falcon Field just before last Christmas. Hadn't seen him in awhile. He actually BUILT the enclosed trailer he had the car in- it was as magnificent as the car inside! AMAZING talent and a great loss.

Yep, that's the one. The article did mention his accident. Apparently happened between the photo shoot and the final printing of the magazine for that month. Always sad to see a talent like that lost. He did an absolutely outstanding job on that car. I actually took that issue down to Trevor @ Aluma-Art when we were talking about the Ghia. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Well, did a visit to Aluma-Art this afternoon to check on the progress of the rear wing/cover. He still has a couple things left, but so far it's looking pretty good. Should have the car back by the end of the week and headed for Scott on Monday.

This was last Sunday. Ghia is loaded up and ready to go in for paint and finishes. As we speak, it is at BajaWarriors place and Scott is working his magic. Can't wait to see it come back.

I hope to get some work done on the motor tonight, so will post more on that later.

Got the carbs bolted on the motor tonight. Plus did some checking on my shocks. Think I got my springs messed up. Got to do some checking.

Been a while since the last update, but it has been with BajaWarrior getting bodywork, paint, and interior done. Scott's quote was "kind of like trying to straighten out a crumpled up soda can", but it is now back, and looking good. Will need to go back for some finishing touches, but that will be after I get all the other stuff in the car. Here are a few photos.

Pulled out the Subaru motor tonight and the trans. Hope to get down to Don's tomorrow and pick out a new one. Maybe even get back to Harmons and get the door latches keyed to match the ignition. Plan to do a little more welding on the rear cage tomorrow evening. Should be quite a few updates in the next few weeks, stay tuned.

Stopped by Dons Bus Box on Tuesday and ordered up a new 091 trans for the Ghia. Will come with a Super Diff and Weddle 3rd and 4th gears. Plan to pick it up on Sat. In the mean time, got my door handles rekeyed, and picked up today, so one of the next steps will be to put the doors back together. The last couple of nights I've been working on getting the weatherstripping and trim put back in the rear quarter windows. What a pain in the @^E#%%$@. Think they came out ok though. Took me 2+ hours per side!

Complete with the chrome trim piece.

Also ran the wiring harness and the two power steering lines through the tunnel. Used some 3/4" flexible conduit form protection. Seems to be plenty of room, so will run the fuel line here as well.
