the thing you put in the rubber thing that goes into the main brake thing
is it suppose to slip on and off
cause i noticed when i took it out it leaked a bit of fluid out and didnt know if it was normal
and if now that i took it all apart and out
then put it back together and back into the car
should i bleed the breaks when i get it running again and do a hole break job which i have planned to do
just wondering if thats normal

That shaft is what pushes pressure on the master cylinder and makes your brakes work. The rubber booty is there to keep dust and garbage out of the seal on that end of the master cylinder.

If it's leaking you probably need a new master cylinder. It's a pretty easy thing to replace. You may be able to upgrade to a bus master cylinder.

Depends on your car, at Chirco they're about $30-40 for the common ones. I have the 22mm out of a 50-67 bus and it works really well. I also have upgraded brakes, it might be overkill for your setup. And I am not sure what, if any, modification is needed to install that.

Don't worry, it's really easy to do. Oh yeah, one thing to check is the reservoir, master cylinders don't come with them. When I replaced mine I cracked the cap. I had to duct tape the cap on to drive to the parts store and get a new one. Those are cheap too, under $15.

or you could pretty much use any master cylinder if you can keep it from moving and got your self a flange kit but i wouldn't advise that unless you've done it before
