Nope only Simpson and Diestharnesses. No sense in taking any chances especially if you end up hanging from them. I heard some of the Crows had that great GM feeling. |
well...too late now haha
funny you say that I was talking to the guy at ORW and he has ended up hanging upside down with the harnesses I got, he said they held him in great!(or he was just BSing me to sell them) but he races in MDR series

Installed the hoses from the fan shroud to the heat exchangers. Took 'em off a couple months ago to install the heat/air boxes to the rear exhaust, but never finished. Now its warm here soooooo... I'll get 'round to it another time.
Other than that, I just looked at it.

I tokk the rail out to Bartlett Lake on a recovery for Wild West Offroad Recovery. A quad went for a wild ride down a steep hill.

i was driving into school and hit a speed bump knocked my coil loose and arced it all the way to the front killling all the wire
towed it home 3 miles
and did a valve adjustment to find out the rocker is bent by cyclinder 4
and the rear is tweaked so it is almost impossible to get the vavle cover off but managed to do it any ways
alot of work to do before friday when my step dad comes home or he is going to kill me!!

Just another speed bump in the road of life. Fortuanately the harnesss is visable except for where it passes through the innner and outer rear 12/4 panel. Slit the housing open and you can see if which wires need to be tapped /replaced. You may also have to change the ignition switch.

BajaBlue, The Crow harnesses are FINE!
Most of the offroad race cars I tech use Crow belts. I have NEVER seen a problem with them. I have a set in my own Baja Bug. 5-points for all 3 seats.
There was a death in a rail at Glamis a couple of years ago where Crow belts were used. One of the shoulder harnesses had some failure of the stitching to the lap belt. They were NOT competition belts and the car endoed HARD at 65mph+. The guy was big, his belts were loose, and his seat failed as well as the bar behind the seat which the shoulder belts were fastened to. It was undersized tube. Check the sticky in the HBBOffroad Forum at the Samba. Crow ceased making that type of belt with the harnesses sewn to the lap belts.
Belts of any brand need to be installed properly. It's pretty late right now, and I have to leave the house at 5:30AM, but I'll try to get back to this to give some pointers on mounting those belts.

Let's see starting Monday I took off the stock heads off of my 2276 and put on cb 044. I also went from 1 44 weber to dual 44 webers. This thing should should be a screamer now. Does anyone have time today to help me tune dual carbs in the Mesa AZ area? This will me first atempt to do so. I have a sinking tool and that's about it.

PS...On the subject of belts...Simpson has their (o) (o) in a wringer over having been caught with counterfeit SFI labels on some of their products.

That's Impact Racing that has the issues with SFI certification, not Simpson Racing. Bill Simpson lost control of Simpson Racing after the Earnhardt death.
