It seems like whenever I take my 68 beetle out for a spin and park it, the engine will drip gas onto the ground. Any idea what this is? I can take some pictures if it helps.
Thanks

Have you looked for the source? Your own observations would be more useful than some pics I would think. Suggested areas to look at:
- Fuel line connection at left side frame horn
- fuel line between frame horn and fuel pump
- fuel pump
- fuel line to carb
- carb

If there's enough to find on the ground then the source should be easy to find.

It appears that it is coming out of the fuel pump? (first picture). It also seems like the breather tube (I think) running from the air intake down through the oil down to the ground may also be leaking something. Any advice?

Sounds like bad fuel pump.

That is vent tube, helps the engine "Case" breath. Newer (70's plus) engins use a PVC valve for the same reason. The older the engine (Milage) the more blowby you get, also if you put in too much oil in it you will get the same thing.

I'm pretty sure losing gas comes from a bad case of lead foot haha Laughing

it could be that you have no hose clamps on the lines going to your fuel pump

for the breather tube what AZBaja said, either getting some blowby or too much oil...Check your oil right after turning off a warmed up engine(that way the oil is running through any oil cooler, external filter, etc.)

Also, do you have valve cover breathers?

Look at the valve cover on this rail, see the hose coming from it?

You drill a hole in the side of the valve cover and put a little fitting in there for a hose to attach to

Here is the one I use...

It basically helps to vent the case pressure to keep oil from leaking, there pretty much mandatory if you have anything bigger than a 1600. My friend built a 1835 and didn't put a breather system on it and literally blew his oil cap off! sounded like a cannon hahaha

Also on the oil breather fittings on the valve covers, it was suggested to me that they should be installed up higher on the valve covers and preferably on the front side. It depends on the space you have and what tins your using. I would think that having the breather tubes on top of the valve covers would be optimal. These were already installed by the PO.
