Measure the EXACT inside dimension of your beam without the bearings. Get a big fat washer at the hardware store that's slightly larger than that. Also get a piece of all-thread, three nuts, and some washers that will fit inside the big washer. Grind two flat spots off of opposing sides of the washers so it has two flat edges and two round edges. Grind the round edges to match the ID of the beam exactly. If you did it right, you'll be able to barely fit the washer in the end of the torsion tube, and you'll have two gaps, one on either side, as you look at it inside. Put the all-thread inside of the modified washer with a nut and washer on each side of it loosely. As you push the large washer down into the torsion tube, it will tip on its axis and clear the bearing. Once it has cleared, you can pull it back and it will fit nice and snug on the back side of the bearing. Put a scrap piece of steel (or wood, whatever...) with a hole in it up against the face of the torsion tube with the all-thread poking through it. Now you can use that third nut and washer to tighten up on the wood block, or steel block, which will cause the large washer inside to pull the bearing out like a puller. Likewise, when you get it to the end of the torsion tube, if you can't get it out, you can slide a metal pipe down the all thread and bang on it like pulling dents with a slide hammer.

Did that make any sense, or do I need to draw a picture?
