you should have 2 hole on each side at the low points. this is to help water drain and stop rust, do not fill them in!!!

Thanks, I noticed that on the other side. But the holes are a rusted bit to big now so I'll weld them and drill them in again.
I'm not planning to build a show car.
Bugs rust a lot in Holland due to humid climate and the salt they spray on the road in wintertime. So I want to make sure that all the rust has been taken care of. It would be a pity to have the car cleaned up and have it start to rust in a year or so.

well,,,was they still there?
I was concerned at first but they are still there. The water tank at Upper Sycamore is gone. We do need a good rain there are sand whoops up to two feet at Lower Sycamore there that are hard as rock. At times I thought I was riding in a go kart. Today I'm heading to Florence for an Arizona OHV Ambasaador AML training class. Later I'll make sure Martinez Canyon is still there.

It was there I got to get in about 50 miles off roading after the AML class. I saw orange rail with a 1600 cc and the stoutest ice chest rack ever seen. No pictures the card was missing from the camera.

got the trans in last night...i have a scat drag shifter and the adapter for the bus to bug shift linkage...the linkage and the shifter all bolted up nice and it looks correct...however, i cant seem to get it to shift into 3rd and 4th...is there a little trick im missing here??

if i move the linkage around on the trans would that maybe get some more throw out of it and get the linkage to wor more smoothly??

any help would be great!! im trying to get this thing done so i can take it back apart and paint it!!

Installed a winch on the Baja:

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am shopping for a real winch for the near future....

Seriously,,,, temp wired in my CD/Tuner and 4 speakers (my Christmas gift from the wife) to get an idea of mount options (and to hear how good it sounds Wink ) for the radio and speakers. Installed all the plastic defroster/fresh air vents in preparation for the fan shroud flaps and thermostat that I'm waiting for. "Need some heat mon!!" 'Cause it's damn cold here in Va (high of 30 deg F today).. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad

Haha, nice winch.
What are you planning to buy? A high speed winch or a slow one?
I'm want one in my Baja too (which is under construction for the winter).
But I'm thinking about a slow one. they are cheap, about 100 euro and its just for when I get stuck in the mud so I can winch myself out. A high speed winch would perhpas be a bit to much, right?

I was hoping to get a cackle out of some one. Laughing Laughing

Well Dutch, I don't know yet. I'm in the dark a bit when it comes to winches but I am learning. I guess I'll go with some thing with power rather than speed. I figure for the most part I'll be winching out of a hole or something and won't need the speed. I am looking at some thing in the range of 5-8k pound rating which run any where from $300-$500 here depending on the manufacturer.

My idear, the ones for 100 euro can pull about 1500kg, That should be enough to pull me out when I'm stuck. The high speed winches come in handy wwhen you do off road competitions. I'm in no hurry when off roading.
