just go to craigslist and search for ecotec in the auto parts section, they are a dime a dozen and they came in pretty much every GM car with a 4 cylinder for about the last 10 years. (cavaliers, sunfires, s-10s, saturns, etc)

Have you driven it yet? I'm dying to hear about how it performs. What HP output is that one? What trans mods did you do?

DROOL DROOL DROOL.

Its getting the computer reflashed, so it hasnt been driven yet. It should be right around 160hp or about double what a healthy single carb 1915 puts out Shocked It was surprisingly easy to swap in also fits surprisingly well the rear bumper sticks out only 2" further than it did with the 1915. If the radiator was relocated someplace else we could actually make the bumper shorter than the one that was on it.

Another good swap is the Honda V6. It only weighs in at 230lb-250lb depending on which one you get. There are 3.0, 3.2, and 3.5. Don from Don's Bus Box gave me name and number of a guy who sources the ECU's and modifies the wiring. About $800-$900 for that. Cost of the engine is $500-$1000(3.0's are cheaper than 3.5's). The 3.0's are about 225hp and the 3.5's are around 270hp. More than enough to break anything but a stout 6-rib gear box. Daryll will be doing this swap for me during tax return time. Smile

These guys have expensive cool stuff like flipping the intake around so the air filter is easily accessable in the rear. Spendy header systems also.

just a fresh stock rebuild then?

Out of curiosity, what's the distance from the firewall to the back end of the motor?

I like that exhaust too- where'd that come from?

There is a small casting on the back of the cylinder head that you will have to cut a hole in the firewall of the car for, about 2"x5" or so, other than that it fits perfect. The exhaust is a stainless header that you can find on ebay for $115, the muffler is a modified flowmaster made to fit the dual outlet header with a 2 1/4 exhaust pipe that shawn wlded the o2 sensor bung into.

This is way cool. Is the tranny holding up the motor or is there something else supporting it? What adapter did you use?

Thanks!

Trans is holding up the motor, kennedy adapter, motor is only 50lbs heavier than a bug motor.
