Thanks Preston, actually, the model Ghia is not mine. Just a pic that I found on the net, but if mine can come close, I'm on the right track. I'm hoping to be completed by Dune season 2010, so have a ways to go, but having fun with it.

Minor set back today on the engine plans for the car. Apparently the 2.2 liter subie motor that I bought did not originally come with a turbo, and according to OutFront Motorsports, it is not recommended to add one without considarable modification. So, at least until I check out the motor a little, I will plan on just using it without the turbo until I can do a complete swap for a 2.5. Running the 2.2 at about 170 HP is good, but a turbo charged 2.5 at close to 300 HP would be MUCH better. The good thing is the adapter, computer, and harness can be used on either engine with only minor mods. Been making alittle progress with getting the rear discs mounted. Looking forward to lots of garage time this weekend, so will post some pics of what I get done.

Well, Memorial Day weekend was a good time in the garage. Got alot done. Managed to get all of the framework done on the back, and tied in to the upper shock mounts. Then finished the mounts for the rear discs and got the trailing arms mounted in place and aligned with the frame. Was talking to my neighbor on Sat, and discovered that he had some wheels from his race car that were just sitting in the weeds. 15 x 8", perfect to put on the back and get me on the ground anyway. Still waiting for one of the front wheels to get here, then will be able to get the tires mounted and get it on the ground.

The red frame attaches at the two rear body mounts, and then attaches through the floor to the frame behind the seat shown below.

I also got the rubber in place around the shock openings through the fenders. I found some rubber floor mats at Wal-Mart for about $15, then riveted them to the fender.

I also got the front end attached with Dzus fasteners. So far I have six holding it in place, but I think I will add another to the sides. I have one there now, but feel that I should put another one there. Then I bolted on the front bumper to make sure everything still lined up ok. Will probably go ahead and finish up the bumper now that it is in place, tabs, ends, final attachments, etc.

It keeps getting a little closer, I can't wait to get this thing on the ground so I can clean out my shop! Then start in on the rest of the cage on the inside of the car.

Been awhile since I posted an update, so thought I better get up to date. We did quite a bit of traveling this summer, so haven't had too many good shop weekends, but am getting back in to it. I've made some progress....IT'S ON THE GROUND!!!! Decided to pony up and put some brand new skins on it. I've got a little more done than this set of photos show, and will post them soon. As we speak, it is on the trailer, headed down to Bajawarrior in the morning to get some seats ordered. Can't wait.

Made the trip down to Queen Creek today and ordered some seats from Bajawarrior. I'm stoked! A set of ProSeatz are going to look VERY good in this thing. Ordered a set of "Junior" seats for the back rather than a bench. Think it will fit better. It's just for the kids anyway. It was pretty clear that Scott not only knows what he's doing, but does a very nice job. Think I'll turn him loose on the rest of the interior when I get ready.

I've been working on the back end for a little while now. Of all the BajaGhias that I have seen, I have yet to see one that I really like from the back. They always look kind of unfinished, or just chopped off. So I've tried to make mine look a bit more finished. I got the tail light sections grafted in today. Plan to run the stock lights. Since they will be set back quite a ways from the back of the cage, I thought that I would get a set of lights from a 60's style bus and mount them on the back part of the wing. Let me know what you all think.

Got my seats today. They look AWESOME!!! The BajaGhia will be sporting 4 brand new ProSeatz, 2 full size in the front and 2 junior size in the back. Even got a pocket for my iPod on the drivers seat. BajaWarrior did a great job as always. Check them out. Even the kids like them.
