I dont really have any experience with these so excuse me if I am doing something really stupid but I dont inderstand how these boots are supposed to fit.

I have the 930 flanges, and I cant get the boots to fit over them. They slide into the flanges and seem to fit good like that but when the axle gets angled even a small amount they pop out. I know I must be doing something wrong, just cant figure out what that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wrapped safety wire around the flange end of all mine. Haven't had any problems. I've seen tie wraps used also.

For the axle side of the boots- many leave them alone to "float". Others tie wrap those as well.

Hope that helps.

You talking about the boot poping of the flange?

I cant get the boot to wrap around the outside of the flange. To the point where I wasnt even sure it was supposed to go around the outside. It just doesnt seem like it is big enough to fit but it came with the CVs so it should be the right size.

I will try to get some pics tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys!

Get those pictures up. There are two different types of CV flange boot set-ups for 930's. One has the boots that cover the bolts, the other has the boots that leave the bolts exposed. Which type do you have?

My boots are held in by the allen head axle bolts.

Both style boots.

Mine look like they have more angle than yours but it could be an illusion. I believe i set the droop at 22 degrees. Are you using 3/8 allen bolts. The heads on the allens hold them tight against the flange. I'm using Empi boots on Sway Away axles.

So what your saying is that the boot should go over the flange, correct? The problem I am having is that I cant seem to get the boot over the flange. The boot came from Lobro(?) along with the CVs and the flange if that helps.

If they are supposed to be REAL hard to get on maybe I just didnt try hard enough.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but those boots do look too small. Could they be Type 2 boots or something? Sure seems odd- mine look different and fit on the flanges no problem. If my car was here I'd post a pic for ya.

The boots could be small, I would also change your bolts to allen type. You have the set that use a socket and can give you problems once the boot is on.

If the boots do slide over the flange. Use some safty wire (not a Ziptie!!! a ziptie will pu;; the boot off when you tighten it.) and rap the safty wire around the boot. Once the wire is tight give it a 90' z bend 180' from the twist point of the wire. This will hold the boot in place.

I normaly do this 1st so the boot and flange are one unit the bolt the flang in place. if your fighting with the boot and flange at an angle you could be there all month.

I looks like you have a street style boot. Very few ribs vers the off road type that has a bunch of ribs that will fit over your off road type CV boot flange.

This is what you should have.
