Thank you guys. I'm in the process of re-painting all of the suspension parts due to over spray and putting this thing together for the last time. I will begin the engine assembly soon and I will do a better job of posting updates. I'm shooting at having it all finished by the end of July Wink .

It comes in sheets pre-painted. I had several choices on color or even natural but I thought this looked the best. The shop that did it builds dirt track cars and I was very pleased with the work and the price.

do we have a smiley for drooling ? We need one...AZ !!!! anyway,man that thing is.....DAMN !!! I really like the color.I am by no means a trailer queen kinda guy but u will admit i would have a hard time leaving the yard(the first time)

Thank you guys for all of the positive words. As far as a "Trailer Queen"... it does look better in the pics than in real life. It's a good 5 footer at least Laughing . On Labor Day week end I will be taking it to Little Sahara for a good shake down and I'm sure it will get a few new pin stripes.

Here is another up-date...

I basically stripped it back down to the frame after painting because I had a lot of over spray to clean off. Here is where I am in the final assembly process. Every thing is now loctited and aligned as it should be.

First I've just about got the front end finished. obviously the arms were the first part to be added to the beam. When I got ready to put the spindles on I sprayed both sides of the shims with graphite dry lube. This is an old racing trick Madmitch taught me back in the old days Laughing


Here is what I used...



Shims sprayed...



Spindles, tie-rods, rack and limit straps added...



Brake lines (hard and braided) are done but I have not added the hard lines yet. Here is a pic with all of the brakes done and the shock installed. I'm still waiting on the little reservoir block thingys.




I also replaced the two Fox coils in the front with FOA's...




On to the back for a while. I sprayed the under side of the fender with undercoating. I think it looks much better. I will do the under side of the hood also.



I installed a HD arm for the t-o bearing along with new final drive seals.



I also installed both rear trailing arms with all new bearings and seals. Every thing in the back is done now but the cv's/axles and the brake lines.



I hope to have this back to a roller by Monday night so I can begin the engine assembly... Keep your fingers crossed

i hope you dont think i was calling you/your baja a trailer queen,i was just sayin that if i had built that car i would have a hard time taking it out the first time.I would,i would just have a hard time doin it.super nice man,SUPER nice....Maybe you,and leather would like to come down to waldron (near ft. smith)and help me with mine ?

Leather is out of the country right now but, I would be cruise down some time and help. I was thinking of driving the bug down that way on it's first big road trip.


The trailer queen thing is ok... That's all I hear from Leather Laughing

not saying any thing bad, but did you think about putting another plate on the outside of your front shock mounts? Seems we have had a few people have front end parts bent up with out the out side bracket on the front shock bolt.

A good grade 5 bolt should work but a Grade 8 would be better.

I have a grade 8 in there now. I plan on taking a few spares just in case. If I brake one then I will do something different when I get back home.

Been gone a while but here is an update. It actually runs Very Happy . Here is a vid or 2 and I will update some more later.

Hedrock took a hill little to fast and spanked his rear cage, which caused the sand to grab the rear cage and throw it up on top of the Baja.



It swung up and hit the back the baja then hit the top of the roof rack. Could of been a lot worse and we are thankful his roof was built the way it was.
