This is for the Yellow "non Baja" Project of mine. I got her torn down and the rear is all supported by a 1" angle iron frame and 4 bolts. Got any ideas how to build this so the ass of my car won't fall off, or kill me in an accident? I was thinking a whole new chassis type frame since I need new pans anyhow. Got Photoshop? Help me out if you can, I need ideas.

Although that thing is neater than hell, I think you're gonna have to face the fact that it's a rolling potential deathtrap! I wouldn't be able to NOT drive it either- don't get me wrong.

What about building a tubular rear subframe? That should be a LOT stronger than what you've got.

I love that little car. I think it's the neatest VW-based abortion I've ever seen.

I really think that the frame horns are the only way to beef this thing up even a little. With a new frame system and more support I think it'll at least be better than what they had. Thanks, guys!

I posted this question over at Samba and someone posted this for me. It's the same thought of going for the frame horns for support.

I have a set up on my baja that looks almost the same as this. The horns are tied of the the upper roll cage.

I'm just thinking you could build a simple to box fram and tie it into a small hoop role cage... If your going the cage route.
