TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!
Unfortunately it happened to me this morning while driving down Main just before Stapley on my way to school.
Luckily it doesn't seem like it did too much damage, just bent the center bar where i used to mount my bike rack and bike...thank God i built a roof rack for the bike. I didn't need that squished too.
I put some pictures of the damage up later tonight. I'll be assessing the damage later this afternoon, checking out the frame horns, the firewall, the pan where the roll cage is mounted, etc.
What a GREAT way to start my week.

Gotcha. Well good luck to ya man. Thats no fun in any vehicle, especially one that you have put so much work and customization into. Let us know how it goes.

That sucks! Sorry to hear it, man. Hopefully you'll get decent compensation from insurance.

well both my dad and I have looked the car over and there seems to be no hidden damages. I drove it home from tempe this afternoon and it seems to drive normal and shifts fine and doesn't have too many issues. I got two estimates so we'll see how much his insurance likes those. Either way i probably won't get what i should for it. But, it could have been a hell of a lot worse. So i'm thankful for that.

Its been said many times thus far, but serious bummer! Good luck!
Makes a snapped throttle cable seem like less of a problem than it was.

Well I received my check in the mail on monday from the other driver's insurance company.
I was able to get $580 (my highest estimate) for it without any hassles.
I finally fixed it today and was able to fix it in just a couple of hours.
Luckily i was able to keep the skid plate tabs on the bumper and cut the piece of tubing out around them. Made reinstalling the skid plate quick and easy.
All in all it turned out to be a good thing getting rear ended. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone or hope for it to happen again though. But with the extra money I have now I'll be able to get a new rotating assembly for my turbo.

Can't argue with a new rotating assembly , crappy way to get it though. Definitely cool it's back together.
Not to hi-jack your thread but you got me curious as to how you mount your bike rack on your baja? Got any pics or hints? Thanks...

well this is basically the gist of it:
I take the front wheel out and mount the fork in one of those quick-release type mounts. And I usually put a bungee cord around the rear wheel. And thats about it. Before I had a rack that mounted in a receiver hitch. and then i just put tie-downs around the bike. Now thats eliminated, mainly because of the unfortunate event that i knew would eventually have happened.
If you want some close ups of the quick-releases let me know, I'll get some.
