I don't know if any of you Arizona guys is interested, but SoCal Bajas is going to be doing a two-day run on the Mojave Road in April. For those of you that don't know about it, the Mojave Road is a famous trail that was used during the migration during the Wild West. It runs from the Colorado River to Barstow. There are many historical sites and many cool landmarks. I figured that this is as close as we are probably going to get to you guys, and it would be really cool for the two groups to merge for a run. We'll fill you in as the details become available if you're interested.

Any takers?

Yes, I did it many years ago with a stk 2wd ranger and a friend had a stock suspension Baja with a 1600, he went everywhere, including the sand hills where no truck could go. Think a lot of relatively smooth dirt trail. It was originally an Indian trade route.

It is a great trip with Petroglyphs and other things to see. If my car were ready, I would be lobbying wifey to go.

Sounds really cool! My car definitley won't be ready though and April is a crazy month for us with my son's first birthday, my best bud's last trip home before being shipped off to Korea for 18 months, sister-in-law and her family visiting from Carlsbad CA, and all the rest. So unfortunately we won't be able to make it, but I expect to see some awesome pictures from ya'll that do get to go! There should probably be some great opportunites for that new wallpaper page that Eric is going to set up!

Hard part about that is it is a ~138 mile point to point trip. You can leave your truck/trailer at the start or stop point, but ........

OK. I'll try to answer everyone here....

We do our best to make sure all of our runs can be done in a stock baja. Some spots may be a challenge, but they're doable. That's part of the fun of it all, isn't it? From what I hear, this is a very mellow trail, compared to some of the other stuff we've done.

We'll be voting on a date in the next couple of weeks, and if anyone is interested in coming, I can get you instructions on how to cast your vote.

As far as trailering goes, this will be tough for all of us since it's not a loop. The CA guys will probably drop the tow vehicles in Barstow and drive the 40 to the beginning of the run (which will start on a Saturday morning at 8:00AM). The AZ and NV guys will probably drop the tow vehicles at the beginning of the run, and return for them on the way home. We'll be camping somewhere on the trail on Saturday night, which should be an adventure, too.

This is one of those runs that should be one to remember for life. You guys need to get those cars running and ready, dag nab it! Come out and join in on the fun.

You're street legal, right? If so, you'll be fine. I'm not sure of temps, but I think that should be the PERFECT time of year without any extremes. Figure it's going to be like Phoenix type weather.

Sounds like a good trip. How far from Barstow is the Trail and where does it come out?
