Well, since moving to AZ a year and a half ago, I havent touched my fiberglass buggy project. Well, I now have the time to start making progress on it. I need a few things done to really kick off this project. As it sits where I last left off, the body is off, and the floor pans have been chopped. I planned on building a body lift for it, and also having the tunnel sand blasted. Additionally, I would like to rid the spring plates (coilovers) and convert the rear to IRS.
I need to know of a place (prefer the west valley) that can remove my spring plates, and convert to IRS. Ive heard spring plate scare stories and I want none of it LOL.

Any idea how much time it will take to do an IRS conversion, and remove the spring plates? Once thats done I plan to weld in new floor pans and incorporate a 3" body lift. Then it will be onto the full cage.

Just an observation here- but if you're gonna fork out the $$$ for coilovers, why would you mess with a body lift? Are you planning on running stock-length arms, or going 3x3 (or similar) and longer arms up front for more travel? Helping with tire/fender clearance issues while running on stock suspension seems like the only real benefit of a body lift. If it's clearance you're after, then go SUSPENSION! Body lift won't help with ground clearance!

Just .02 from an observer, and I'm NOT an expert!

My plans for suspension are 3x3's in the rear, and im torn between A-arm and beam in the front. My concern and reasoning for the body lift is the fiberglass body. The battery cutout in the rear will definately hit the trailing arm unless its lifted. In the front, the A-arm kit ive been drooling over requires a body lift for suspension clearance. All the research ive done has pointed to a body lift to ensure there is no rubbing of any kind. I can provide a link to the other VW site where the build im basing mine off of is, if allowed. I dont wanna link and cause conflict.
