Not sure, it's drivable right now and has been for a while, it just runs like crap and i don't trust the 1600 in it right now, i'm wanting to build a 1915 DP, throw it on and call it good Cool

as far as cosmetics go, it's pretty much done, gotta mount a few light tabs here and there, run some wires, paint some mounts and put in new seals and such, It's getting there! Smile

sounds fishy. Shocked You have to get the 1600 to run right first. Displacement only makes them run stronger not correctly. Razz

No i mean i'm going to build an enteirely new engine, i'm not using the 1600, it will turn into my backup motor, the 1915 i want to build will be all brand new parts, EVERYTHING brand new so i know that everything is good.

New case and all.

well it's been a long time since my last update, but Smokey is now on the road as most of you may know. it's back to the life of a daily driver and unfortunately due to financial issues, isn't going offroad anytime soon Crying or Very sad (just can't afford to fix anything if it should break on the trail)

But it's running STRONG now! better than ever!!!

Partially rebuilt the 1600 which i ended up finding out to be a 1641 Rolling Eyes

new cylinder heads & pistons. had 2 cracked heads and 1 cracked piston when i tore the motor apart. everything else seemed intact and it's running great!

Very cool Meangreen! and don't worry, you weren't even close to a thread jack Rolling Eyes Very Happy

my next project will be my grandfathers Trike he left me, it's been sitting for 10+ years and all i know about it is it has a dual port vw motor of somekind and it needs a lot of work. Can't wait to get her started though, should have the trike down in July. (trailering it from my home state: Washington State, along with a 1970 Chevy C-10 Pickup which will be doing the towing Cool )
