still seriously considering doing the 2.3 and 091 set-up for my bug, just wondering how neccesary going all the way to 3x3's are? i know 3x3's look cool with their stance and long travel shocks mounting to the cage, but....

can 2x2's (for the same price of 3x3's) properly support the weight of the 2.3ford motor, while still providing the correct dispersion of weight using the factory upper shock mounts?

i'm thinking it might be easier/cheaper to go to the factory upper shock mounts rather than getting the "long travel" shocks to mount to the roll cage. also, the 2x2's use stock length bus CV's, rather than the pricey 930's...

You use the 3x3 arms to get more travel and better angles for your CV's Shorter arms will hold up just fine, you will need a 27mm-28mm rear torshion bars. I run 29mm bars with my 3x3 arms.

I don't know how much travel you can get with shocks mounted on the top of the arm and using the OEM upper mounts.
