Laughing After seeing your metal door panels and your speakers, I keep thinking the same thing- you're gonna need a bigger set of speakers!

(I've got a metal interior like that, and it'd take a LOUD stereo to be heard over all the racket inside the car!)

Shocked

awwww bugger, filled the coolant system last week, and the level dropped a fair amount. thats odd, no signs of water on the outside dripping anywhere, so pulled the oil drain bolt, and got this

anyone familiar with these engines know if its more likely a head gasket, or cracked head or block, or something else?????

also fighting a messed up brake system. any tips on bending the hard lines to get them into place?

Unfortunately will have to pull the head to inspect.

Do you have a tubing bender? If not Daryll can fix you up.

suck a duck. not much worse than finding the milk shake, cause then you know you in for some work. i guess thats what nice about air colled engines... no chance of coolant getting in your oil and eating you bearings... maybe a rebuild is in order since youll be there? very interested to know what you do. goodluck, and looks like it will be a pretty sick little whip when your done.

2.3 Fords are notorious for cracking beween the intake and exhaust seats. Thats what I would look at first.

They can be very reliable stock and be built up to crazy power. Talk to Madman74 aka Shawn, he is a 2.3 guru.

well I bought a new motor today, and its not a 2.3......

its the older german 2.0 from a 72 pinto.

header looks like it will swap, blocks look the same as far as bolting up, taking a 160 dollar gamble that I can make this work, or frankenstein them together.

but I'm open to any advice ect.

the older one has a smaller 2 barrel carb, not sure if the motorcraft intake setup is worth swapping, or what.

thats the new motor. gonna be putting it on the stand and cleaning it up some tomorrow before the bugfest.

see you guys tomorrow
