I am running a 1600 motor with the 1 1/2" Baja Exhaust ,duel solex H40/44IES carbs and a mechanical advance distributor and im tring to find out what my timing should be set to so if anyone has a set up like this or just knows what it should be it would be helpfull

28-32 degrees BTDC at full advance. Set it at 3K RPMS. That should do it.

Anyone got a clue how to sink dual carbs

everyone has to be a noob at some point. Stay on here for a while and the feeling will go away quickly.

As far as your carbs. if you don't have the right tool i found it much easier to just take it to some one who does. Most places don't charge much to get them set. you can do it with out the proper tools but i sure don't know the trick.

Where are you at in California? If you're in SoCal, you ought to checkout the SoCal Bajas local happenings stuff on the website. There are a lot of really cool folks involved, of all levels of expertise from beginners to full on racers and tech inspectors. It would be good for you (or anyone local for that matter) to hook up.
