finally got my air compressor fixed, wow does the sandblaster make quick work of tough to reach places.

gotta go buy some more sand blasting media, anyone have any suggestions on where to get it?

and I am wearing a respirator, and have setup a strainer to reuse what I can.

Well sprayed the self etching primer, and lets just say my skills at painting have a LONG way to go.

gonna have to sand out some runs, and touch up some stuff on the cage with a brush I think, since I couldn't get to all of it. Salvageable though, didn't totally botch it, I hope.

my garage paintbooth

before

after the primer

have some sanding to do, and touchup with a brush where I just can't get the gun, then I'll spray it with the paint.

progress anyway wohoo.

thanks Dan, I'll be doing the outside this summer when its too hot to play with it much. thank goodness for AC in my garage.

Just silly to rewire the car and not do the rest of the interior work at the same time.

gonna touchup some places with a brush in the morning since I couldn't get everything with the spray gun, and wet sand some of the drips out before I go to bed.

sprayed it this morning, and got one of the new all terrains mounted, now its time for bed.

came out much better than the primer, although I might have some orange peel issues. gonna have to wait and see this afternoon.

well pulled down my ghetto fab paint booth, removed the masking tape, began the wiring harness.

so anyone with experiance on old ford 2.3 motors, I have a few questions.

2 sensors at the back of the motor, one looks like oil pressure, not sure on the other. and a brown wire coming off the alternator. any one know what these are for? or have a wiring diagram for this motor?

gonna start reinstalling the interior tomorrow.

Even got the girlfriend to help out with pulling masking tape and being an extra set of hands.

These two sensors with wires coming out. that is the valve cover, at the flywheel. big black cylinder with the purple wire on it, and the other pink wire coming out from the middle of the pic. if you guys know what they are would be a huge help

more help from Kristen. keeping the dog away from the power tools, and giving a hand for some stuff

seems I have type 1 cv's?? anyone seen this with a 3 rib bus?

guess I have an even better excuse to go to 930s when I swap out the rear suspension stuff.

and my at least for now temporary dash in place, thanks to Bugzylla.

gonna use it for a while, while I figure out gauges ect. that I want.

thanks guys
Ken

thanks a lot. picking up some gauges today, that'll make it easier. hopefully the senders talk to the gauges right. otherwise I'll be swapping senders too.

off to the dentist and get another tire changed, more updates this afternoon

didn't feel like I got a lot done today. installed the CNC pedals, found out I had no front brakes due to plumbing issues, so I got the parts to fix that. hooked up the clutch, but need to fill/bleed it still.

put in the battery, half the gauge wires, a few other things. modified the dipstick so it will stay bolted in.

Got the other rear tire mounted and installed.

got the radiator fixed(needed a new overflow tab, and the heater core fitting removed/plugged) put it in, which is a true chineese jigsaw puzzle. painted the hard lines for the radiator, and almost got the drivers side CV disassembled to replace the bad boot. And turns out I have type 2 cv's on the trans, and Type 1 CV's on the wheels.

and a bit of Eye Candy
Radiator

15 dollar harbor freight headlights

been a long week at work. 12 hour shifts at night don't leave me time to get a lot of work done.

did get the brakes all hooked up, and clutch bled out. Finished rebuilding and reinstalled the drivers side CV's, found the passenger side had a bad type 2 cv. really bad, and got another one from a friend today. the type 1 cv at the wheel is kinda bad, but polish it up some, and it'll last the year or so that I figure it will take me to get 3x3s and 930 cv's.

Put the hood on today

the lights are close, but it'll work.

slapping the windshield in tomorrow with my girlfriends help, and still waiting on the dash/door panels to show up at the parts place.

then I can plan the dash out a bit better.

but I have a question, I keep going back and forth about running the stock speedo. or just put a tach there, and not worry about it??

ahh the hard decisions.

What sort of front suspension mods are you planning? The reason I ask is that if you're going to end up running combo spindles down the road, don't bother with the speedo now, because you'll lose it when you switch to the combo spindles. They don't have the hole through them for the speedo cable.

Maybe that'll help you with the decision, maybe not.
