And what a timely bump it is too 57baja Mr. Green

I just sold my 70 baja last night and am going to the paint store today to get primer so I can finish the body work on the the main body. Once that is done and painted I will be building the 3" body lift, bolting the body to the pan, and starting the cage work. Pics to come soon. Cool

I picked up the primer today (ppg omni 2k primer) so I should be able to make some progress in the next few days.

LMAO

Be sure to post photos of your body lift... GOOD ONES. I'm going to be doing the same soon. If you get real ambitious, you might think about making two and save me the headache!

In fact. I know another guy who will need one soon, too. You might think about making three!

An update finally. Thanks to my employee Shawn the 3" body lift is finally done. Also the rear of the body has been trimmed and metal work done to hide where it was cut off. As soon as I can get some time the next step is to finish the body work on the main shell and get it bolted to the pan so the cage work can begin. Its just sitting on the pan temporarily to check fitment of the body lift. Its looking pretty tall already. Cool I am thinking about an aluminum drag style wing on the rear, nothing too big or gaudy, but just enough to cover the motor and make the back look more complete.

I did a little more work this evening. I rough trimmed the rear fenders and got a rough fit of the gas tank. Its out of a split bus (67 & earlier) and fits like its made for it. I will be welding in a firewall behind the back seat and also fabbing some baja style fenders to attach to the existing fenders to cover the tires a little better and keep mud from slinging forward.

I havnt drilled the holes and tried to bolt the body down yet, but as far as I can tell it fits pretty good. Cool

As far as putting the body on, its simple, I finally went and got some new ratchet straps and stuck a piece of tubing through the rear qharter windows and ran the ratcher straps up to the roof beam in the shop. One man operation that way. Cool
