Spark plug wires are a pain! They pop off the plug easy, but can be a real problem getting on, and then they can look like they're on since the plugs are hidden behind the cooling tin, and what do you know, totally off. Grrrrr...

Lol!
That was an easy fix.

Danko, Get the Bug me video (dvd).
I pretty much started out as an engine beginner this year and the vids made me know how to adjust valves, set the timing, carb etc. I did an engine change recently. I even found out a lot about clutches and that the springplate from the engine I tried to kick in (litteraly almost) was a problem because it had a faceplate wich I just had to pull off. (a three fingered springplate comes either with or without a faceplate). Perhaps now you don't understand what I'm talking about? Watch the dvd and you'll know in an hour or so.

here it is: Bug Me
or Chirco: Bug Me even more

Yeah, I change them every year or earlier anyway. Saves a lot of trouble, plugs too. And oil every half year. (Not so dusty here so that's enough)

And once you get the hang of it its so cool when you have done something yourself. I just rewired the back of my lowrider bug. Only the blinkers are messed up, probably bad grounding, the rest works, alt light turns nicely on, get good readings from the battery, etc. The *ss owner before me pulled the regulator out. How stupid can you be?

Not nearly as dumb as the guy who installed his own long block and threw away the upper and lower cylinder tin. He towed it in and wanted to know why it would not start since he only drove it 20 miles. He told me I was wrong that it was siezed "because engines don't need cooling tin".

Was the fan just hanging out, or did he take that off to?

The shroud and fan were still there. But I have also had a guy pull out the full flow oil pump on 2275 not knowing the case was also plugged and go to the dunes It was a short ride since there was not an oil light or guage installed. He cam back saying "Dean Lowry did not know how to build a motor". I asked did Dean tell you to hook up an oil filter and pump." Yes but I did not want to spend the money was the reply". Dumb had a son named Dumber.
