Thought you were typing WRENCH at first Rolling Eyes

i'd say if you were going to do it, Fab up a darn good push bar/Brushguard and mount it to that. bolt and/or weld the push bar to your front Beam. extra braceing is encouraged Cool

I've only seen a couple and only one looked good. Although I have to say I've considered it myself.

I don't know the weight of my baja, but it's pretty darn light. Summit had a 2000 # winch for under $100 bucks, seems like a good deal. But being so light, it would be easier and cheaper to use the tow strap I already have. And it could probably pulled out of most situtuations with a couple of guys, not to mention another vehicle.

If you do it I'd definitely be interested in seeing the results.

You put a wench IN a baja and a winch ON one.

LMAO - Had me fooled, too.

Wenches prefer riding in a seat and are mountable from a variety of angles.. I would make the winch removable and have front and rear mounts.

I would mount a reciver hitch on the front and rear so you can put it in front or back. you are also going to want to double the weight of your winch compared to your car. At least that is my way of thinking

Yes you CAN put a wench on a baja............ But she might fall off. Mr. Green

But I prefer a Winch.

I have a 2K pound winch on my car trailer. It has pulled up dozens of VWs, including busses and it only has an 1/8 inch cable on it. So a 2K winch will work fine on a baja.

or at least some enzite,or extenze to make it longer......haha LMAO....no for real tho,i have an off brand 6000lb "wench" and it is more than i have ever needed, and by the way i dont know if all winches are the same but if they are then the labled lbs. rating is rolling weight and not dead weight so i would say mine is rated just about rite to pull a "stuk" bug..i have found that you can usually rock a bug out with the gears if need be,long as said "stuk spot" is relatively flat. these are my thougthts...few and far between as they are.....theyr mine.

As far as "winch capacity" I know for sure the Harbor Frieght 2000# winch will not pull you out of the mud. It wont pull a rolling completley stripped except for the doors Baja up a ramp 8 feet long and 30" tall. As for "wench capacity" they have been known to hold quite a bit.

Would it have worked with a doubling pulley? (I don't think that is the right name for it)

It would it I just have not bought on yet. THen trust becomes the factor most HF electric items are in reality rated at a .0000001 duty cycle. I bought it to use on my low deck trailer where it works fine.
