Joe might be out of space for any more classes. I was reinforcing the idea that most VW are always in some state of restoration so do not be afraid to show it as it is. |

Heck, I have been in tons of show and I'm sure my car was the best and some guy who bolted some white fenders on a powder blue wreck would win best Baja... But I still have a small pile of awards...You win some you loose some and heck it's just fun.

The cool thing about VWs is that, nowadays, looking like CRAP is what's COOL! Unlike street rods, etc., it's not about having a show-finish car at all.

I have always been of the opinion a car show should about being there not about how much money and time you are comfortable spending on your car. For every top shelf job there ten other. It makes even more sense when it is a "Volks" wagen show. Chirco did a great job of making a place for every level of vehicle finish. The show has the potential to quadruple in size if Joe added under construction / deconstruction classes. |
Joe are you listening? |
Our show has never just been about show quality cars.
It has always been about the fellowship and love for our hobby.
We welcome all cars in any stage. The problem is making more and more trophies. For the last three or four years we have been creative with our trophies. We had 50 trophies I handed out. The shifters retail at $54.95 and the shifter boxes retail at $12.95 (You can guess at my cost and do the math) The powder coating of the boxes was $225.00 and the plates were $350.00. That does not include the Best of catagories.
That is a couple of duckets.
Anyway, I hope next year we have many more Baja's.
Here is the vid of the BBQ
