$$limit is $200.

the question is:::
should one get a foam fuel cell and mount in the rear tray, theres no seat anyway. this option is more $$.
or
get a cheaper spun tank and mount up front.

thoughts to ponder among others are cost vs. benefit, long fuel lines with under hood option, idea of having fuel beind your seat, weight ratio with fuel up front, etc etc.

I'm happy with my aluminum tank up front, BUT I need a rear seat. I DO wish it was more than a 10-gallon tank though. Once I get things set up, I'll probably be keeping an eye out for a cheap way to increase my fuel capacity...

Oh- as for your poll, I'd say it's really hard to cast a vote, since you're the only one who knows your financial situation, AND how you intend to use the car.

That's my opinion, and for now I'm stickin' to it.

I had a spun aluminium tank installed in the back package tray area from P.O. I was not to keen on this. I just took it out last week as I am putting a whole new body on the pan and starting from scratch. I will not be locating the tank there this time. I will most likely using a stock tank in the stock location.
I will be selling the spun aluminium tank I guess
To each his own.....

yeah thats why i was thinking that if its inside, it has to be a foam cell, not spun tank, unless its under the hood, then it really doesnt matter.

ANOTHER UPDATE::: the other issue is that the spare tire will go wherever the tank doesnt. IE: with the tank under the hood the spare goes behind my seat ( a pain to get out i suppose), with the tank behind the seats, the spare tire will go up under the hood.

I wanted a rear seat for the kids; and a cell in case I can race a Whiplash race or 2. Sooo, I bought a metal enclosed fuel cell and had it mounted in the front.

The downsides of the frt cell are: center of gravity goes up a little; handling will change a little depending on fuel level; spare will go on a roof rack or above the engine cage.

Upsides: have a back seat, which you did not need; gas is not in the passenger compartment... IMO safer; easier to service the tank/check the level etc; add weight to the front to help stability.

I have 2 tanks up front. stock 10gal and a 8 gal spun tank. I fact I like the car better when both tanks are full. makes the car ride better and helps in handling. I can get on it and still turn with out it getting to light in the front. when the car is empty and your on it hard you will not turn... and when it rains...The gas up front is a plus.

im starting to lean towards the idea of the tank up front. seems like there will be less worries with it there....that and i dont need to get a cell for it, just a spun tank./

A 20 gallon fuel cell where the back seat is would be best for safety and handling. I like the T-2 tank in the rear luggage area. It puts the weight over the rear tires and handling is more like a rail. With out the tank up front highway handling suffers a bit. Having two tanks is nice if you spend a lot of miles off road away from gas stations.

Have Bugzylla "customize" a sending unit to fit your tank.

Home Depot hands out custom fuel gauges in the paint department. About 1 foot long and 1 inch wide and FREE!!! ...work great...Too... Shocked

I run 2 tans one spun with no gauge and the stock with a sender. I run the upper spun tnak untell empty then flip to the lower stock tank and use the guage....

Or you can go old school and get a stick...
