I have a 70 baja that is going to be driven daily about 60 miles. Are wheel adapters a good idea? I was thinking about running a 225/75/r15 at tire. Any suggestions?

Just make sure you torque the lugs good on both the wheel and adapter.

Too bad you're not wide 5. I have a set of new wide 5-to-Chevy 5-lug wheel adapters that need to disappear from my garage. Oh well- maybe the Karl's swap meet... Laughing

the 1/2" thick steel wheel adapters from 4 to 5 bolts are stronger than your rims and most of you suspension parts, trust me on that. Had to drive out of bull dog canyoun on 3 wheels one night.

This sounds like an interesting story.........

primedaddy,
I don't know about the law in your area but I remember my buddy going through some hassles with the local police when he added adapters that pushed his tires out beyond the fenders. This of course is in Va where the law seems to pick on any modified vehicles.
Nonetheless, he was running a mildly modified motor in a street VW and he never had problems with his adapters,,,,,even when he rolled it. Bent the wheel but the adapter was fine.
