i just put a spun aluminium tank in mine. it was pretty easy. i think that putting one where th back seat is is a little more involved, but i wouldnt think that it is that hard.

There are tanks designed to go in the rear package tray(less desirable) and tanks designed to replace the rear seat and lay flat. Moving the tank rearwards does lighten up the front end. Fuel isn't that far off from water at appx. 8lbs. per gal so figure in that weight transfer. consider stering brakes if you do the switch.

FYI. water is 8.3lbs/gal., gas is 6lbs/gal.

absolutly positive, different density, which is probably due to the molecular make up. you can google the specs. here's one for you, How many gallons will a 12"x12"x12" tank hold?

I kknew I was close on the water. Used to be fireman a few years back. so you have a 25% diff. in weight. So, 15 gal (just a guess) at 6 lbs,,,,,90 lbs would be lost in front end weight. Still quite a bit if you think about it.

part of the oil and water do not mix, fuel is lighter than water so it floats.

2nd point the guy has an airplane for his avitar, I'm pretty sure he knows it down to the gram.

Mounting a fuel tank inside an enclosed car is a bad idea, unless you plan to remove the windows the fumes would be pretty bad all the time.

If you do mount the gas tank inside may i suggest that you get a fuel cell. it is a double walled and it has a anti flow valve. just incase of a roll over that the gas stays in the blater. Not spling over you and your love ones.
