Body will be "new beetle blue" and the frame light gray. Engine tin will be blue also.

He is painting his trailer to match. bwaahahahaa, just kidding, this thing is going to be wicked scary to ride against. The fenders, you know the suspension will not be that compressed so why cut em? Again, kidding, cut them puppies, just not to much, ok?

how about a big ol' JOX RACING sticker on the side in gunmetal grey with a red pinstripe around it to offset the blue a little.

No, That was it. I asked my brother about that ( he's a body man- street rod builder ) and was told to look at a truck bed and see how often it was spot welded... so I did and it's not real often and they are pretty strong. We'll see what happens...

Here are a bunch of updates... Diong lots of work and not much posting Rolling Eyes sorry.

I decided to try my hand at doing something custom on my dash. Here's what I came up with...

First I bent up a piece of 1/2 " conduit in the shape I wanted...

Next another one for the top of the dash...

Attached them together...

Started to on the underside with the sheet metal...

Fitted it to the dash of the car and started filling in the front...

Finally the top...

It took about 8 hrs, 4cut-off wheels and 4 grinding discs to get it to this point. When I finish the body work on the rest of the car I'll smear a little bondo on the dash to make it all real smoooooooooooth and ready for paint

Here are some pieces I made for the old heater channel area...

I will still finish welding it all in and blend it to look like the foot rest.

Installed my seat belt mounts. They are double shear and way cool. There are 6 of these total.

Smoothed out the dash a little. Still more to go on this...

Finished the roof finally Rolling Eyes . It's 'posed to look like this one...

Here's mine...

And bought some new rear tires. The old ones were 33x12.50x15 and these are 31x10.5x15. I don't think I would have enough hp for the 33's.

I also painted the rings on my rims. The color is a 2008 VW color. The body will be the same color Very Happy

It actually has some color on it now. If all goes right it will be going to my Bro's in two weeks for paint Very Happy .

I'll post more as time allows Wink

He used a 1" die. I used 3/4" on mine since the area was too close. They are fun to use. Smile

I've been putt'in along at a turtle's pace lately. Here are a few updated pics. I went to MOCRAWLER's last weekend and he bent some tubing for a roof rack for me Very Happy . I still need ti finish the back and put vertical supports between the lights but you can see how much it changed the looks of the car. I should be ready for paint in a couple of weeks Very Happy

Hey Leather-

You need to change your sig to "You dumbasses elected a president who will not even recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the USA "

Sorry about the hijack, Hedrock. SCHWING! Unreal.
