My baja has been getting alot of talk lately, everyone knows it, well, too many people know it (and some might not like it, ive set off 2-3 alarms Laughing ). Everyone thinks its pretty cool but i dont even lock my drivers door, so thats my first anti-theft idea, maybe steering wheel disconnect? Hidden park lock? Take out my rotor? battery disconnect? A

Take your engine in at night, it' only 4 bolts and can be done under 10 minutes.

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Smart-A$$ Laughing

the hard truth is, if they want it, they're going to get it Sad Shocked
Confused
but you can deterr (spelling?) a thief by using "THE CLUB" on your steering wheel. for greater protection disconnect something easy like the ground to the battery or the main power wire into the coil, something that prevents the car from starting but is easy to put back in.

LCOK YOUR DOORS! if you leave the doors unlocked the thief will throw a rock through the window! (seriousley it happened to someone on here Laughing they left the door UN-LOCKED and the idiot threw a rock through the drivers door to gain access Laughing Laughing Laughing )

IN MY CASE: my wireing is all screwed up and all over the place, DEFINATELY WIRED WRONG (Thank you Previous owner!)

But in my bug the car has NO ELECTRICAL POWER unless the parking or headlights are on. my car will not do a dang thing until i pull my headlight switch at least one click out. it's a pretty cool anti-theft device but it's not s'posed tuh do dat Rolling Eyes Embarassed Laughing

Ha. Im not in that bad of a town or in the bad part of town, but Im a freak, i spent the night at my friends house and everytime i heard a car that sounded like mine (at low RPM) i got up at looked outside til 3am.

AZbaja, thats about where im at when i go to other people's houses/overnight places i dont usually do. Takes me 15 minutes to take out my motor, oil cooler lines are hte most time consuming, I plan on installing shutoff valves, and those nice hose connectors, and only got hose clamps on the other stuff.

Steeling a VW is like nothing. I mean, hook a towbar up to it and haul a$$.. You can be gone in no time. I think rigging a lock on the e-brake would be a good idea. by the time that the thief figures out why it wont go, he may loose interest.... Maybe a lock on the e-brake and the shifter. The thing will be topless most of the time and that is what im planning.

my father and i own a repo business or did and when i would go and take cars you hook and drag and whatever is locking that car will soon give out and i know that thiefs have even more expirience than i or my dad do. like everyone in this thread has said if they want it they will get it. my 07 dodge with a 1000 miles on it was stolen from sonoita, az on a ranch, in the middle of nowhere it sucks. but goodluck. another bad thing is that if your in az. or so. cal. we have illegals and do they care? NO! im in immigration now with the coast guard and when we get illegals all we do is give them a slap on the wrist and send them back. i have caught one guy in the past year 4 TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!! well sorry about going off topic good luck again
