Id cut them off, and mock up some new big thick heavy duty noobs and make a jig for the transaxle rear mount so it will line up good!

Zero camber change would be nice... as long as the camber was dead nuts on in the first place. There's no adjustment. I'm not impressed. VW engineers, with all of their expensive tooling, decided slotted holes in the spring plates were necessary, and I tend to agree.

i'm tossing up the idea of making my own frame horns off of the stock torsion tube. seems likt tthat wouldnt be to bad.

I've seen you post on some other sites, I have seen a car w/fab'ed horns, did you search the other sites also? Run on sentence I know, sorry teachers.

Anyway, I can't remember who's car it was, or even which site since it has been awhile since I saw it. Embarassed

ya i have the build running on this site and the samba the fabed frame horn picture was over there. but no really build up of it seems to be pretty straight forward though! just dont know if i need to yet...

putting the rear tires on in about a hour we will see if i got the brackets right....... luckily i have Thursday Friday to work on the bug every week or i would never get anything done.

well i thought i got the brackets perfect.... i was slightly off.......

left tire is slightly towed in (fully adjusted for toe out) and right tire is slightly towed out (also fully adjusted toe out)
its all welded so i figure i will slot the arms and drill two hole in front of the bolt pattern through the spring plates (non adjustable) when i get the toe perfect.

opinions?

todays up date.
seats are fitted gonna be close to the passenger hopefully that wont ever turn out to be a bad thing. most of the internal cage work is done cant do much else till i order seat belts and get my fuel cell so im on to the engine cage. not sure how to mount it below the motor but i have the upper mounts in place.
any opinions comments are welcome!

i thought the exhasut hung down to low for when i add a spark arrester to the muffler so i shortened it up about 4inches
