HOORAY!

She's at her new home out of the heat...

Hopefully I can get out in the woods next weekend and play around. Thanks for everything Blaine.

James

Set up a free account at photobucket.com. Upload them to your album there, and all you have to do is put the link to them in your post where you want the pic to appear. Very easy.

Let's see pics!

I have a feeling James will do quite well finishing where I left off. He seems like an eager guy ready to thrash, break, fix and love the VW baja - perfect member for AzBaja.

Kev - Yes I will be building another. At the moment, I will be finishing my street car. Need to button up the 1915 for it, then once my daily driver dub is back on the road, I will be on the prowl for another. I want to build a manx this time. I really like the looks and feel of the mid travel, long-body manx's.

SO, if anybody gets a line on a longbody manx roller, or even just tub, shoot me a line.

That is a nice car, and the hood rocks, rare item.

Speaking of the hood...

I wanna get two small pad-locks or something for the front two hood pins. You know so it doesn't grow legs and walk away. I doubt it would happen up here, but you can never be too careful. I was thinking about getting a couple of small rubber coated/covered locks or finding some non-coated locks and dipping them in that latex stuff used for redoing the rubberized handles on pliers.

What do you guys think??

I think that's a real good idea. Very desirable piece of fiberglass. Wish I could find one. Anybody know who made 'em? While your at it fast_1, You could have a mold made, make a buck or two!?! Wink

Jim at Bug-N-Buggies in tucson did have the mold for this hood. He gave it to a friend who DOES make replacements. You can pick that exact hood up for around $400.

I saw one sitting down there not to long ago.

Thanks Blaine, I couldn't remember if you told me Chirco or Bug-N_buggies. It's unfair, we have a ton of bugs up here and only one semi-decent store, Tucson has a few good bug and buggy stores. So Sad

As to the selling price, I don't mind if it is out in the open, so it is up to Blaine.

Even though I have not done any of the building of the car up to this point, Im gonna start a build thread to document what I do to it. I couldn't think of any better place to put the thread...

Unfortunately after I got home from work, I spent the evening getting my other car running. I really wanted to start painting the cage and stuff. Time to order more parts, HOORAY!

lol, nothing to hide on price...

I wasnt really ready to sell it but saw fast_1's post in search of a baja. I was going to ask $4k for the baja to CL and Samba, and offer it for $3,500 to any AzBaja peeps. James jumped on that.

I even delivered it from Tucson to Prescott for him.
