the rust goes pretty deep in the cylinders. up to 2"s!

BTW this motor WAS siezed good before I got it (fromt sitting)

Yea it was a blast. It will be more fun since I had a few leaks from the empi cooler adapter, I got it fixed, and I get to clean this out.

I love to beat on the baja.

Next mod is shocks. Nothing crazy.

It is good to polish the exhaust ports, but do not polish the intake. You want the air and fuel to tumble a little bit to keep the fuel atomized.

Just replacing the bent valve, or having them rebuilt? SP's work well, many racecars made good power with them until they opened up the rules to include DP's due to lack of available parts. I have a SP now, that I will use untill I build a larger engine and then it will be a backup.

Im taking valves off, spark plugs out, sand blast it, port and polish! , put valves/springs back on!

Be careful with the sand, try to look into glass beads or another less abrasive media.

Most high performance shops have a valve spring tester, you may want to test the spring pressures while you have them out.

I got 2 set of heads but one has better valve guides but they are open chamber??? and my other are closed chamber???

Dash idea (make a triangle pie shape piece and maybe weld some bolts onto some brackets inside and drill holes in my dash and just put nuts from my trunk.

I would put switches, gauges, lights, radio.

make sure when you set the rings again you turn the part where the ring split 180 from one another or else you will have to much blow by and that could be why you are reading a low compression rating i would personally change the rings. no matter what, that is a main piece if they are failed then you can start getting gas in the lube oil then it thins the viscosity of your which then makes your engine run hot and you guessed it just keeps on snowballing from there.AZ is right, if you have a second car then i would just save the 150 bucks and replace the jugs and pistons. it will save you money in the long run.

I am getting 87mm C/P/Rs off of STF (marc v.) Very nice guy. He said hes ordering new grant rings, from the warehouse he works at.


So ill be a 1641cc soon!
