ok as most of you have seen im building a baja similar to a class 5 but much more of a play car! im at that point where ive run the tube through the firewall and now ive gotta design a rear cage that is one good looking and two functional. i want to mount my plate two backup lights and two brake lights back there. i want it strong enough to to be hit quite repeatily not by a class one car but my family all own bugs and rubbing is racing.

so what im requesting is opinions and if anyone has a picture of a cage they like.
im open to ideas!

please help i know not alot of people post regulary but this is a open request to each and every person that views this topic!

Here's a couple pics of mine. I didn't build it, but I like the taillights and how the plate is mounted. I wish the plate opening was big enough to hold the plate recessed inside the tubes, but it's not. I have PVC spacers behind it so I didn't have to trim the thick COPPER plate down- the PO had done that and although the plate WAS recessed and well protected, it looked like caca-doodle-doo.

I would say buy one of the pre-made cages, and build off of that, tie it into the cage. Practical, all the critical stuff is done, and you can make it like you want it.

I kind of like mine. My buddy built it, and he got the idea from a 1600 car. Its can be removed to pull the engine. 8 bolts, is all it takes. The lights are from the local rv shop.
