If you're willing to pay 2g's for it, then offer him 1,700. You may end up with it for 18-1900 and be $$$ ahead!

Ok- I typed a big long reply a few minutes ago, and the freakin' thing didn't post. So, here goes again.

My opinion is that it depends on what your end goal is. IF you want a hardcore baja, AND you don't want to be 10-12k into it, then that isn't the car you want to buy. That one is cute, but not very functional. All that $$$ and still no real travel, no real cage, etc. That is a good example of a NICE, STREET baja. It all depends on what you want in the end though.

My advice would be to buy a linkpin car that's '65 or older (NO EMISSIONS!). There's one on Phoenix CL for $4150 that's already caged, already IRS converted in the rear also I believe. May not be a great deal, but there's a lot of spendy/technical work already done.

Just my humble opinion.

Emailed. Wink

I'm not looking to go SUPER HARDCORE baja.

She'd be a daily driver, and then on the weekends and what not, it needs to be rather trail worthy.

HA! You say that now...

FYI- You will of course be required to post any pics of said machine when you hear back, so that the rest of us may salivate and fantasize... Laughing
I'm afraid that's non-negotiable.

Yeah that looks like a promising machine, but it would also be nice to stay with a VW engine. Razz

Hmmmm. I believe you'll run into folks that disagree with that statement. Laughing

The attributes of a later-model design that I see (and hope to someday enjoy) are no leaks, more reliable, and MORE POWER without spending a ton of $$$.
