My newly bought baja had the cuttin done by one of the previous owners and they happened to remove all of the engine tin. I read in my trusty baja book that this should be replaced for optimal air flow through the engine. Any truth to this? Is the difference enough to warrent replacement?

THANKS!

YES,YES,YES! Put the cyl covers on and make sure they fit snugly against the fan shroud. there are also deflectors under the cyl jugs above the push rod tubes. make sure they are there too. post some pics so we can tell you whats all missing.

Are you speaking about the tin that goes around the engine compartment? Or the tin that goes on the engine?

If all of the tin is off that motor I hope it was not run much. That would be a quick meltdown of the cylinders.

So without tins the engine can burn up? Ive been driving my car since I got it without cylinder tins and havent had any problems. Didnt think it would matter since the whole rear is open. I guess ill pick some up this week though.

you should have the ones that are dirrectly on top of the jugs. then the dog house will fit snuggly into them forcing air onto the block.
