Im IN! I should have my car 'registered' again by then, but if not, being that its off-highway, the vehicle doesnt need to be registered correct? I will trailer it up, and roll from there. Probly head out with Ditch - make sure his butt gets up at 4am!!!! hahaha

Alright, marked it on the calendar. See ya then.

Oh, I'll get my ass up. I'll have the towbar rig hooked up Friday night. We can meet somewhere by the freeway, maybe Speedway and I-10.

My brother in law is coming with me...you all have to help me get him to buy a Baja. I know I am trying pretty hard!

I absolutely can't wait for this run. I am going to try to get my tires before then. The ones I have now are pretty scary.

Ditch and Blaine- I live 20 mins from Rolls and have plenty of room if you want to leave your tow rigs here. I'm probably going- hopefully my car will be drivable then...

The parking for trucks/trailers at Rolls can be sketchy, depending on how crowded it is.

Just a thought.

at 6 am, parking should NOT be a problem. the lake doesn't get full until after 8 or so....

It should only take me like 10 min. to get that !@#$% towbar off there. That, or I will just plow in to a rock pile and wail it off.

Did I mention I am VERY excited about this trip?

Really, you guys have to help me work on my brother in law. We are best friends, and I just about have him convinced that a baja or rail is a quality family hobby. (Which it is, of course...)

See you all there! (1FASTHOE...what kind of beer do you like? I owe you for the seats!!)

Jeff

The status of the lake is irrelevant. You can't park in the Pobrecito overflow lot to ride, you have to cross the cattle guard into the desert and find a place to park in there. Pobrecito is just a staging area for the lake, NOT a parking lot. You will find a nice present from the USDA/USFS on your window if you park in there to go riding the Rolls. I'm just always concerned with leaving a vehicle unattended at Rolls. I found and reported a stolen vehicle there once. There's no shortage of scumbag/loser/douchebags in there (look around at all the garbage and now closed areas in there)- I would be uncomfortable leaving my truck unattended there, that's all.

Az350, if you are gonna roll your baja, I will take you up on the parking offer. I will be towing mine via trailer - I dont want to come back to my truck missing the trailer out back - lol.

I remember where your house is, but whats the drive to rolls like? My car is a bit undergeared for freeway driving. Any back/city roads that can get me there?

It's straight up Power Road (turns into Bush Hwy.) from my house. Max speed limit is 45 all the way there. Maybe 12 miles or so. Nice drive through the desert along the Salt River and past Saguaro Lake, basically.
