Do YOU have AzBaja stickers on your car? LOL.

I am happy to say I do now. This is a great way to get the link out and grow our community. (Thanks, Eric!)

I was rolling home from the grocery store yesterday, and I saw a yellow baja ahead of me, 5 cars up at an intersection. I goosed it, and weaved in and out of traffic to catch him...just had to see it. It was a really nice yellow car with green stripes on the roof, full cage, etc. He spotted me coming up behind him, and slowed down. We rolled together for a bit and talked (yelled). He asked if I was on "the forums". I said, "AzBaja.com", and he said he had seen my car there. We agreed we have to get together for a run.

The moral of the story is, we can have a bigger, more fun group down here if we recruit and start to organize some events down here! This website is a great focal point for the community we enjoy. (Thanks, Eric!!)

I would like to build the Tucson area, and enjoy some of the great support, networking, and fun the Phoenix guys have, but down here. We have some great offroading areas all around town, and a bunch of Tucson enthusiasts. We need to unite and build a solid Tucson chapter.

Soooo.....let's make it happen. I've tried to get a roll call before, let's get it done. Let's get the Tucson people to hook up.

Email or PM me, I would be happy to organize a Tucson outing.

You are not allowed to move, Tim.

Blaine and I do keep in touch pretty well, he almost has his engine back in (I think?). I have met planenutz in person, as well as mas_fina.

We just need to all get together for an event of some sort, something casual. Don, maybe we all could just meet at Chirco some Saturday to BS and get lunch or something?

I stopped in at Chirco Saturday, but they said you were not in, Don. One of these days I will actually meet you!

What do you do for a living, Tim?

CALL THEM. And tell them I said they have to hire you. That should do it.

Don, will you be working on Saturday? I want to be sure you are there. I will stop in if so, with the baja. I'm warning you, the pics look better than the car does in person! But I drive it like an idiot, so that makes up for some of the ugly stuff.

I should make a flyer to post on the bulletin board at Chirco. Do you know any Tucson baja guys (customers) that might be into some commeraderie, Don? Incedentally, what sort of offroad vehicle do you drive?

Jeff

My wife supports my bad habits, I make less than the guy behind the counter at In-N-Out.

I am a grad student: Biomedical Engineering. Should be wrapping up my dissertation by the end of May. Presently working on a new tool that will revolutionize the detection and treatment of cancer. Includes aspects of pharmaceuticals (targeting and controlled release), nanotechnology (synthetic nanoparticle mediated low-energy laser ablation), medical science (bioinert and degradable in vivo), and laser-scanning tissue imaging (confocal endoscopy, and optical coherence tomography). Hey, you asked.

My undergrad was in Materials Engineering, also have experience in pacemakers, materials and lead design. I have done a lot of random things, and am not afraid to get my hands dirty, or learn something new. I know that I am capable of doing just about anything (but politics: I'm too honest).

The Tucson option is with a certain large defense contractor located in town. They are looking for a mechanical engineer at the same education level that I have. But I won't get the opportunity to explain that I can do anything an ME can (and more), until they call me.

Id say call 'em back repeatedly Tim. My wife is a M.E. there and says it's a little slow right now. But if they are accepting applications.... maybe in your favor. Contracts come and go.

Jeff, tho my Baja isn't road-worthy I'd be up for some casual event type event. Rolling Eyes

If Tim is talking about Raytheon they hire through the Internet and hard to speak to somebody. IF not then look at them they are always after Engineers of some degree or another.

Yes, yes, and I am, they are just busy with a project right now, not with filling the rec they put out.

Well, let's say noon at Chirco tomorrow?

How about noon in the parking lot? If nothing else, maybe we can BS for a while.

I will PM everyone.

Blaine, you got that thing registered?

Jeff
