Kennedy Engineering 1700 lb. pressure plate without a doubt. Clutch discs are a whole different topic. It's like asking someone what kind of beer they like. I'm using a heavy duty clutch plate that's spring loaded for smooooothness, but many prefer feramic three pucks or four pucks that are a bit more grabby. You should get a lot of varied answers on this topic, but we'll probably all agree on the Kennedy.

I agree w/57baja on the pressure plate, and a stock style disc. AZBaja pointed out in a post a long time ago, a clutch disc can be like a fuse, burn the clutch is much better than breaking the trans. The puck style are very harsh, there is no slippage, like a switch, engaged-not engaged. (hard on the trans, especially with your larger engine. Of course if you are in western Michigan and going to Silver Lake sand dunes, you can give your trans the test and run a puck style and paddles.

I ended up with, what I think is, a happy meduim, I went with a deiken (sp?), seems to grab well and still gives a little play in the peddle.
I'm running a little larger engine and the stock disk went away pretty quick and I just didn't like the "on/off" of the 4 puck.
I'm a fan of a little "slip" in the clutch though, saves on parts.

The Clutch is the fuse that saves your transaxle. I run a light plate with a spring disc. it's much cheaper to replace a burnt clutch than a broken transaxle. We had the car on the dyno last year and at 88hp the clutch would start to slip, so I might go up 1 step next time I have the engine out of the car...I'm not sure if I have an 1800lb or a 2200lb in it know. But for now it works great.

Yes, mine slipped pretty bad with a stock disk also. The dieken seems to be holding up pretty well though I dyno'd mine this year at 140/150 and it's holding up to that and still seems to have a "little give".
