Hedrock, your car gives me nightmares, man! That's my dream, full tube chassis racecar. Absolutely beautiful.

I need to get a dimple form die, I need to make a footrest for my left foot while driving.

Good job!

Jeff

Another update... I started on some body work today ( I hate body work ) but, I guess it has to be done. Because the heater channels were so rusted out I cut most all of them out ( who need heat Wink ) and replaced them with a piece of 1 1/2x 2" tubing. I had a piece of 3/16 steel bent like a piece of angle thats 3x4" to go from the outside of the square tube to the pan. I will post pics when I get there. I cut the ashtray out and filled the defrost holes and other holes in the dash.

New heater channel...

No more ashtray...

Dash all filled in... I hate body work Rolling Eyes

Now I will work my way back and should be done by next week end.

Very Happy

OK so I'm running behind... What's new? The end of last week turned into the end of this week imagine that Embarassed . After much discussion, debate and pic surf'in this is what I ended up with for the back end. I wanted to cut the back off to look like a class 5 unlimited bug but my sponsor ( wife and brownie maker Wink ) likes the back on. So here are pics of the compromise...

These are at the "a" and "b" pillars by the old heater channels...Think this is a 'vert only item.

Before...

With metal patch...

A little filler...

The back "dash". I wanted to clean it all up

1 1/4" flat stock...

Welded a piece of sheet metal to fill it all in...

The left rear quarter... Before...

Added a filler piece...

View from the top...

Filler for the top...

All done...

A little more welding and some Bondo and this side should be done. Now all I have to do is make the other side match... And order up some more brownies.

One more thing... The profile above the rear fender changed a little when I did all of this. I'll post more pics as I finish more. Wink

More progress pics from tonite.

Side view... you can see the little bit the side profile changed. I like it better straight across without the "swoop" down... I think it looks cleaner.

Right side...

Both sides done... What a PITA

Started putting a little "mud" on... Someday it'll be the good kind of mud...

This weekend I should be able to finish the "mud'in" and start back on the frame. If I keep this Blister'in pace up... This thing might actually be done this year Shocked .

Will post more pics soon... Wink

As far as the hours... I guess I never really thought about it. I normally work on it about 5-6 hours at a time then quit for a couple weeks. If I worked on it steady I would have been done a year ago... Rolling Eyes

The little point in the watch out area. I would think it would look better if you cut that section off. I have removed most of that on my baja and think it looks better with out it than with.
