It's a mid 50's VW 4x2 4108 Type 1 Bug. All 4 rear axles are live and it's a swing with link pin front end. I will not have it at the pizza thing this week but should have more photos the 1st of April. I can not wait. Baja it or just turn it into a street bug.

In the 80s i seen a dune buggy like that but the guy could not turn the car. The front wheels just plowed and slid but the car was to light. The guy just made it from 4 live axles to 2 live axles it still look the same with 6 wheels

I had one like that. It had this carburetor that got 300mpg, then VW took it off when I went back for warranty work. Then I was drving along, picked up this hitchhiker who disappeared in the back seat. He looked alot like Jesus', you know, the guy who works at McD's on the corner of Southern and Baseline off Broadway. But the best is.....I have to go back to work now.... Wink

Anybody know today's date by chance? Laughing

Dude- you TOTALLY missed out! He brought it to the barbecue, but didn't want it to be featured in any pics. Apparently, it was liberated out of South America, where it was owned by a Nazi war criminal living in Argentina and hiding from the Israelis. He's worried about the safety of his family, so he's keeping a pretty low profile with the car. Those Mossad characters can be pretty persuasive when it comes to obtaining information!

It's WAYYYYY cool though! I was impressed...

jox, check oldbug.com. He had one for sale awhile back, still has photos up under "sold" vehicles. Think he got over $80 large for it from a guy on LOWLIFE VW. I've only seen one real one. That was in '68 in DanFong Nam.

ok, I know this will be suspect...but VW did make a 6wheel prototype for the german army, can't recall the body style.
And I've seen pics of a neat bug prototype, again for their army. It was 4wd, cutoff body in back with a box type cargo area, and a big bulge on the front hood for the(no joke)wood burner. It was capable of running on steam I think. This pic was in HVW's once. True, not pulling anybodies leg.
